Meaning behind the Painting

Inspired by Francesca’s travels to Costa Rica and her unforgettable shark encounters around Cocos Island, “Cosmic Lover” captures the raw beauty and rhythm of life beneath the waves. Here, hundreds of white-tip reef sharks emerge after dusk, sweeping through the reef in search of their favourite prey, the vibrant redlip parrotfish.

Above the surface, far from civilisation, the night sky stretches endlessly, the Milky Way wrapping the island in a cosmic embrace. Beneath this celestial canopy, an underwater ballet of hunting and mating unfolds in perfect, primal synchrony. It was in this moment, between starlight and sharklight, that “Cosmic Lover” was born.
