Pura Vida – Story behind the artwork
Pura Vida is a piece about of the project ‘Where two worlds collide’ which celebrates all things that live in and around the ocean and rainforest of Costa Rica – especially focusing on the area where these two worlds meet.
Pura Vida is a common phrase used in Costa Rica and translates to 'Pura Life'. I wanted to create something that sums up Costa Rica for me in one painting. Creating a fantasy and dream like world, playing with Vibrant colours, characters and composition. All reference images for this painting were taken by me whilst exploring costa Rica in 2019-2020. The keel-billed Toucan featured in this painting was inspired by my visit to the Toucan Rescue Ranch, where I had the pleasure to meet Patrick. He was one of the oldest residents at the Toucan Rescue Ranch. Patrick was confiscated as an illegal pet from someone's home and I got to see him enjoying his days at the Toucan Rescue Ranch, San Jose. I was captivated by his inquisitive funny character and knew he was going to be the star of the show in Pura Vida.

About the order
After placing an order for an original artwork through my web site, delivery will be subject to my sales contract for original artwork which will be provided withing a few days of the order. If this sales contract is not signed within 30 days of the placement of your order the order will lapse and the full purchase amount will be refunded to the customer within 14 days. As an alternative you can email me at francescapagecollections@gmail.com advising that you would like to purchase one of my original artworks. In this case payment will be by bank transfer. The full amount due will be invoiced following signature of the sales contract and shipment will be made following confirmed receipt of funds.
As with all my prints, original artworks are packaged with the utmost care. This original artwork will be shipped rolled by reputable courier (such as DHL), tracked and fully insured. Please note that as with my prints, my originals should be opened and handled with the utmost care. If you are unsure how to handle an original artwork then it would be wise to allow your framer to open and handle for you.
All original paintings and fine art prints are packaged and sent with love from London, UK. Import tax duty will be subject to customers outside of the United Kingdom.
