The original blue background is full of the most beautiful gold iridescent paint. When the sunlight hits the painting it turns to a shimmery golden display of magic.
This painting was inspired by my time diving in Cocos Island, Costa Rica and the shark paradise found below the waves.
"Suddenly out of the blue appeared two tiger sharks, both started to circle me in a hypnotic dance. My heart began to race. Let the hunt begin"
- Dirty Rock, Cocos Island, 15/04/19
About the 200 Sharks project
Every 60 seconds around 200 sharks are lost from the ocean due to human activities. The mission for my 200 Sharks Project is to dive with, photograph and paint 200 different species of sharks. And then, through the power of art and storytelling, to bring you face-to-face with the ocean’s most iconic and misunderstood fish, the shark. Through my artwork I aim to provide a spotlight for these living dinosaurs, showcasing their intelligence, habits, adaptations, diversity, beauty, and personalities. With this project I am creating a body of work that takes my own personal diving encounters and uses this as a basis to fuel artwork that breaks down the negative stigma on sharks – turning fear into love. I believe education and connection is the key to unlocking the empathy door within our minds. Art holds the power to create feeling, passion and ultimately change. Our world is a better place with sharks in it, and as an artist I feel it is my duty to be a voice for these silent creatures.

"Thank you for stopping by, means the world. I specialise in Watercolour and colour with over 10 years of experience and a passion for capturing the natural world with my paint brushes. My work comes from a deep feeling from within that is ignited by my love for nature and my passion of exploring and diving. It’s these intermate moments under the waves that my art is born. I have an obsession for detail, colour theory and creating energy. A piece of my soul is in each painting and it is the most fulfilling experience for me as an artist to have my work in your homes around the world. Creating magic on your walls for people to love, cherish and to pass down for generations." - Francesca
